Bars and restaurants in New York - any recommendations?

Have searched and have a list of places to go and some tips thanks to mumsnet however would like any suggestions for bars and restaurants. Have seen stardust and bar 65 recommended so will google these. Dont want anything to high end - michelin stars etc and am going with my two daughters ( early twenties ) and DH.

Any suggestions?

The Harold on Greeley Square (near Empire State Bldg and Penn Station) is very nice. A cool bar/restaurant with lovely atmosphere. Staff very friendly.

We've stayed at the Westin a few times, not sure where you are but round the corner is Smiths in Hells Kitchen, great breakfast and real New York rather than tourist vibe

Going to New York later this year, bumping this for more recommendations.

Food court in grand central for delicious and varied street food mad great people watching.

Grimaldis pizza in Brooklyn - the oldest pizza place in NYC and a real institution.

Staying in mid town

I'll add another bump as I'm going on Saturday with two teen DS's.

Wicksend definitely take them to shake shack!

Live blues bar Terra Blues for something different? Watch the young and trendy fake music fans get up and haul ass once the three old guys start the show 🖒it gets very cool in there so take a jacket.

Home in Greenwich Village it's farm to table. Chef has great ideas.
Monte's MacDougal Street this is where Joey from Friends took his dates.... Lovely relaxed Italian
Artichoke pizza on MacDougal street cheap and oh so good.
Masala Times Bleeker St Indian cheap deals and excellent food.

Ellen stardust diners times square is amazing. All the waiters sing and dance for you. Love it there

We had a fab day out in Brooklyn when we went, not sure it would be everyone's thing to go all that way and then spend the afternoon/evening in pubs but it really was ace!!!

We were near the Brooklyn Brewery.
