I think there is still a sleeper train from London to Scotland, how nice is it? & how safe?

& could DD mess up the journey at all (she is reasonably competant at trains - but is it different?)

TIA

I get it fairly regularly from glasgow to London for work, if I have a meeting early on it's better than getting up at stupid o clock to fly. First class is great and includes use of the very good lounge and shower facilities either end. Breakfast is good.

However if I don't have to be in before 0930 I'd always fly - significantly cheaper even with a hold bag and quicker too, obviously. I have the timings down to a fine art!

If I can ask one more question, what would you say would be the best time of year to do this journey?

I would say between May- Sept. you want it to be daylightish as possible for as much of the Glasgow - Fort William section as it is spectacular!
