Do you have any tips for travelling with a 18MO? We are flying to Majorca in a months time and as first time parents I really don't know what I should take? and what I can buy there? Also we haven't travelled in Europe for well over 5 years, do people still take traveller cheques or would you just draw out money at your destination or pay by card? Thanks, feeling stupidly overwhelmed!

We're in Mallorca with our 2 year old!
It's fab. Where you going?
Has the hotel got a cot? Then just take normal toddler shizzle. Nappies are expensive out here so if you can bring enough that'll save you some pennies.
Uv/wet suit things and lots of good quality sunscreen.
If you're going soon then it's cool on and evening.
Mallorca is fantastic, there's something for everyone. We've done beaches, 10 mile hikes (toddler in back pack), city exploring and lovely restaurants. Enjoy

Sorry didn't answer cash thing as were not very cash savvy. We got some money before we left, pay in card for some stuff, and can get cash out at cash point to top up. Unfortunately poor exchange rate makes stuff expensive, vaguely uk prices.

Thanks for replying penaso, hope you're having a lovely holiday!. Our apartment has a cot and we are staying at Cala d'Or in June. Did you take any toys for your LO? I'm at a loss what to take, especially for the plane. Do they sell swim nappies? Or should I take all of them too? I really appreciate any advice x

You can buy pretty much anything you need but again swim nappies will be expensive.
I took colouring, some small toys and peppa downloaded onto a phone. I also brought some small Tupperware pots to put snacks in which are in a descending size so worked like stacking cups.
We bought bucket/spade out here.
It might be really hot when you come so you could get a sun shade etc for the buggy? You can buy beach sun tents as well but depends if your toddler is likely to stay in! Otherwise uv suits with hats are good.
Be warned that whilst you can take your pram to the airplane steps at take off you won't get it back until baggage reclaim and Palma airport is huge! You'll be carrying them for miles. So a sling/reigns etc might make things easier.
You'll have a fab time. There's loads to do, and even if you haven't got a car there are organised trips you can do or local bus services are good and buses are usually a winner with toddlers! You can even hire bikes with baby seats if you're feeling active.
We're off home soon, I'll be so sad to go.

Glad you've had a good holiday, I'm getting very excited now. Fab tip about the reigns thanks.

Pretty sure travellers cheques are pretty obsolete these days, just get euros before you go and use your cashcard if you need to get more. You can also use cards to pay for things but risk getting charged every time you use it so use it as little as possible.
Don't worry about taking too many toys, just the favourites. Source a cheap bucket and spade when you get there.
