Gozo holiday

We're going to Gozo on holiday in July. Just looking for any advice on things to see there or in Malta. We have DC's 10 and 6. Any things we should/shouldn't do or see? Tia

On Gozo I really like the beach at San Blas on the north of the island, a bit along from Ramla and in my opinion, so much nicer. It is down a very steep path but they have a jeep service which for a couple of euros will take you down and up again (2 euros each way). The beach is small so you probably need to get there early, particularly in July. You can hire beds and umbrellas for a reasonable amount and there is a small cafe there doing snack-type meals, drinks and ice cream.

There's the Popeye village in Malta. Boat trip to Comino.

Swimming/snorkelling. Ramla bay is nice and there are a lot of other shallow bays.

There are a lot of churches - dozens of them. There's a ruins site (Gigantica?) and the citadel, but not sure how interesting that would be for DCs.

Inland sea where you can go for a boat ride through a tunnel out into the actual sea and also see where the Azure Window used to be (it was washed into the sea a couple of months ago).

Eat pizza - as well as Maltese food, Gozitan food is heavily influenced by the Italians and the pizza is excellent.

I love Gozo and we've just booked to go again, but we're a childfree couple who go there to scuba dive so I'm not sure what there is there for DCs apart from the beach.

We love riding around on the buses- they are amazing. Loads of them going everywhere and incredibly reliable. Our favourite swimming place is on Malta, but I reckon it's worth the trip-Ghar Lapsi. Very rocky but lovely swimming. And a good (if surprisingly expensive) fish restaurant half way up the steps to the road.

Remember to take wet suit shoes or something like that. All the best swimming is off rocks.

Thank you, it's good to know about the beach and places to swim. The kids would also love the bus ride round the island. Thanks
