Hi
DH are looking ideas for a European destination for a child-free weekend later this year. We wouldn't want a long flight as we'd want to make the most of our time there and we'd quite like somewhere that's still warm enough to sit out and read a book with a glass of wine, that kind of thing... anyone got any good ideas? I've been to Barcelona and Rome before and we've both been to Prague and Paris. TIA 😄

Berlin...It's a great city with so much to do and see, great food and drink, really welcoming and I think your money goes a long way. Short flight, easy to get to centre of city but public transport - it'll be fabulous that time of year. Sign up for free tour of the Reichstag, do the Fat Bikes cycle tour, walking tour, eat amazing food and drink the best beer. Mitte is a great place to stay on first trip - just by museum island for culture . It's a great walking city with superb tram/train/bus/boat options.

Oh I like the idea of Berlin! I did German A level a long time ago but have only ever been to Cologne - twice! Thanks Bingo

Porto. Had a wonderful time there a couple of years ago in September. Weather was gorgeous too!

DP and I are off to Porto in September. It's meant to be reasonably nice weather and lots of wine / port Grin

Ahh should've read the thread. I see Allinafankle recommended Porto too Smile
