Mosquitos in Corfu

We're going to Corfu for the last week of May and first week of June this year. DH is getting paranoid about mosquitos after we got bitten lots at night in Kefalonia one September.

Can anyone advise on sensible precautions please? DH wants to buy mosquito nets but we have a 3yo who likes to get in our bed. I think plugins and spray (us) will be enough.

We're staying by the sea on the north east coast. There's a small pool outside DS's window.

Went to Corfu in July a couple of years ago and wasn't troubled by mosquitoes at all. Wasps, on the other hand . . .

Just buy the plug ins and keep the shutters closed at night. Also put mosquito repellent on your skin in the evening.

There are plug ins and repellents available in the local shops, or buy from here and take with you.

If you don't take precautions you will get bitten. Like everywhere! I get bitten in my garden in Surrey if I don't wear repellent.

Wasps are not a problem in May. They only come with the harvest.

We love Corfu, but the mossier are a pain.Best things we found are using Vosene anti nit shampoo used as a shower gel and Avon skin so soft. Also get the plug in anti mossie things.

Otherwise have a great time , we love Corfu , always have a great time

Ah yes, wasps were a different story. Bastard things. I love your username BTW.
Thanks for the advice.

My DH got eaten alive by the little buggers in Corfu but the travel rep warned us on arrival that there was a plague of them that year. Get the plug in for the room and loads of people have recommended Avon's Skin so soft cream as a repellant. Didn't see any wasps. Have a good holiday.
