I am looking to book a holiday for myself and my mother & daughter in the summer. My Ma has increasing mobility problems and although I can push a wheelchair, trying to find somewhere that we can all enjoy. We loved Copenhagen before Christmas and I realised there quite how much she is unable to do. Any ideas?

If you stay in the UK then there are lots of websites that have disabled friendly accredited accommodation so that you can be sure of what you are getting. not as exciting as going abroad but have heard so many horror stories from disabled family member about places she has turned up to that said they were adapted but weren't. the classic was a flat marketed as disability friendly with grab rails etc which it was only they had neglected to say it was up a flight of 60 stairs!

Hotels seem to be better with accessible rooms and in terms of places to go any of the city breaks - Rome Barcelona etc would work as cities tend to be more wheelchair friendly.

My hometown is comparatively wheelchair friendly I would love to think, I hope, you could search for "visit stockholm with wheelchair".

thanks fiftyplustwo, Stockhol was on my list as I'd also wanted to explore Sweden and go to see Carl Larsson home.
