My sister needs a passport - anyone any idea how long they are taking from sending in complete form to receiving it at the moment?

I'd like to be able to tell you but I can't- mine went in 2.5 weeks ago and no sign yet, but I can keep you posted.

DH got his in under a week. That was about a month ago.

Ellbell · 13/03/2007 18:48

Dd's took about 10 days.

tinkerbellie · 13/03/2007 18:54

hi i applied for mine and my kids on a friday and got them back the following firday and that was last week so a week

tinkerbellhadpiles · 13/03/2007 18:59

I got my new one in two days (guess being a member of MI5 does have it's advantages heheeh)

vvvvvvv · 13/03/2007 19:15

hello everyone,i just got mine last week and waited a month coz there keepet sending my bk and i have mine done by the post office. i would hurry up and get it if your thinking of getting one as the law is changing now i think you need a interview before you can get one?

tinkerbellhadpiles · 13/03/2007 19:19

The change in the law is just for new ones not renewals to start with I think. Also for nippers they don't care (I hope not anyway, they'll just get drooled on if they interview my DD)

NannyL · 13/03/2007 19:22

mine took lesss than 2 weeks at the end of december.

that was not even check and send!

exbury · 13/03/2007 19:24

DD's took much less than the 2 weeks (used check and send, which helps as they check the photos for you) - and it has just come back.

Hijack question - you know how you need 6 months validity on your passport for a lot of countries - does anyone know if that is 6 months from the date you go in, or from the date you plan to leave?

tinkerbellie · 14/03/2007 09:56

i think it's from the date that you willbe leaving to country, she asked us at the travel agents something like that and she wanted to know dd age on the date of return

also if you get your photos done with klick they do it on a digital camera and pick the one that they think the passport office will accept and if it gets returned they redo them for free

i used the check and send with the post office too abnd it was just as well as i forgot to out the kid's birth certificates in theirs... duh!

vvvvvvv · 14/03/2007 19:35

im off to dominica does that mean i need to wait as my passport has just been done?

exbury · 14/03/2007 20:06

No, other way round vvvvv - you need at least 6 months left on it - DS's expires in December - we are going to the US in June - hence the question.

vvvvvvv · 14/03/2007 21:04

oh thank god for that.im so scatty lol

raspberries · 14/03/2007 21:34

Did ours about a month ago, all done is about a week and a half, used check and send.

slalomsuki · 15/03/2007 14:11
