DC travelling abroad with friends, how to insure?

DD (14) has the opportunity to go to France with her friend's family. I've organised her passport but other than the modern version of E111 how should I insure her? Ask the family or sort something independently (my preferred option, family are lovely don't want any money etc so I don't want to ask them to do more). Who is a good insurer in such circumstances?

My DD went ski-ing at half term with a friend and her family - I added it to our annual family travel insurance policy with Liverpool Victoria - I'm sure they'd do one separately for your DD. We paid about £60 but I'd imagine it'd be less without the ski-ing involved.

If you haven't got family travel insurance and aren't planning on going away this year, you can get single trip insurance for her at very little cost.

She definitely needs it. Just sort it out and tuck the info in a clear plastic wallet with her EHIC and her passport

Thanks for your prompt responses, so in principle I can get insurance for a child in these circumstances?
