Has anybody taken their kids to Peru on holiday? Would love some advice as we'd like to take the kids somewhere really different.

we went to belize and really enjoyed it. however there are issues with jabs and in certain areas of peru things like altitude and the effect it can have on you and the children.

personally not sure how much my kids would have got out going somewhere like this before say they were 10 or 11.

Not my children but we had a 5 year old on our trip. That's too young. It needs stamina to do the holiday and an interest in what's there. Have they got this? Mine were 13 and 11. We did a rain forest extension too. We went to Araquipa, Lake Titicaca, The Sacred Valley, Machu Pitchu and Cuzco plus Lima. There are other options but young children could get bored very easily. A 9 year old hated it on our trip. He would rather have been at football camp for 2 weeks!

You may be better off looking at Costa Rica. It would be less effort. Or Mexico. We also hired a crewed yacht in the BVIs one year. The children loved that.
