Grindelwald/Interlaken/Lauterbrunnen for summer holiday?

Anyone been to any of the above for a summer holiday? If so, would you recommend for a couple (without kids) wanting beautiful scenery and nice walks. Would like to avoid anywhere that is so much in the shadow of nearby mountains that it will scarcely get any sun even when the weather is sunny higher up. TIA

Stayed in Lauterbrunnen last year- at the campsite- unbelievable - we had rain ,snow and then the most beautiful sunny days with snow capped mountains . Temperatures went from -4 to 28. Lauterbrunnen is in the valley - sunshine for us from 8-8. Brilliant place to access up to Murren (one side of valley) or up to Wengen and then one to Grindlewald(much bigger commercialised town.) Do not stay in Interlaken - I said there 35 years ago and it was lovely no it is horrendous.
Beautiful area for walking, eating and over in Grindlewald we did the sky ropes, gocards and bikes at First - very good. Going up the Jungfrau just ok but revolving James Bond revolving restaurant up above Murren was a perfect day and we had the buffet breakfast/lunch up there.

Lauterbrunnen valley is absolutely beautiful. We actually stayed in Wengen for the incredible views and outdoor swimming pool to cool off-car free village with a handy train station to get back down the valley. Try to be there for national Swiss day (1 Aug) and every village has candlelight lantern processions, fireworks, bands etc on!

Love it, honeymooned in Muerren and visited the area many times since. For sun and views avoid staying in Lauterbrunnen which is sheltered in the valley and, although well connected, lacks the buzz and facilities of Wengen or Grindelwald. Muerren is the quietest resort. You can get an area pass covering the trains, most lifts and buses.

Not sure if this is helpful, but we went to Kandersteg (nearby) in August. It's a cheaper alternative with also-stunning scenery, in particular the most gorgeous mountain lake (oeschinensee), accessible by cable car but not too cold for swimming.
