Barbie/Ballet

Hi

My pink mad, Barbie mad, ballet mad 3 3/4 year old would love to go and see a live ballet show of the Nutcracker or something similar.

I am drawing a blank on ballet shows for kids - she's too young for Saddlers Wells etc.

Also what happened to those Barbie on Ice type things that we used to go and see at Wembley Arena? That'd be a good compromise if we can't find a ballet.

Any suggestions? We live in SW London.

Thanks

Hi
I am not aware of any Barbie on ice type shows about. However the ballet "Copelia" is a good starter ballet-not too long and lots to watch. Perhaps you could take her to a matinee of that?

Failing that ask at local Ballet Schools if they are having a performance by the children. Many schools do a performance around Easter, Summer. This might be a good thing for her to watch. Look on the RAD.org website (Royal Academy of Dance)or contact them directly as they might know of a show coming up. Hope that helps!! (PS When I am not being Mum I moonlight as a ballet teacher!!!)

My DD's dnace school and quite a few other schools do large shows, we do one before the summer holidays and there are other ones nearer Christmas. Personaly I think the shows are fantastic and the senior dancers are very professional, its in the towns proper theatre so you get all the atmosphere.
