Planning to take DD to DLP next year, before she starts school in September. Any particular times of the year to avoid (excepting school holidays and bank holiday weekends)?

We went the first week in October. It was warmish and the parks were pretty much empty. Would always go that time of year again.

MsGame thanks - October sounds lovely, but she'll have started school by then.

The last week in August is quieter, I guess because French schools have gone back. So it's also much, much cheaper!

Check Europe's school holiday dates and go outside these, particularly Spain, France, and Germany. May is good for weather outside of French bank hols and our half term. Late Jan is v quiet and cheapest but bloody freezing!

Watch out for June, we got caught with the Spanish holidays which start earlier and all of Spain seems to go there! I wouldn't go in August while you don't have to.

We took our DD before she started school. We went in June and the weather was glorious. The following year we went in the May half term. Sounds daft but we enjoyed that visit more because there was a higher proportion of English families.

Having been used to Florida we were shocked at how much blatant pushing-in there was by the French and other Europeans. At least with other Brits there they were more likely to queue Grin

The other thing we found was that Saturday was a total nightmare. Massive massive queues to get in and really not a pleasant atmosphere. Sunday to Friday were much better.

We have been in May and it was perfect, we did a Sun-Thur and the crowds weren't too bad at all.

We went first weekend September. French schools had gone back to school and it was before uk schools went back. Not to crowded and we got good cheaper deal for accommodation.
