We might be going there for the day - is there a nice park to go to? OR good sightseeing (with a 4 y/o).
Any ideas gratefully recieved.

NO my parents live near there, in laws in Sussex
You can go and visit them if you like, they are rather bonkers though
The cathedral and grounds are lovely.
There is the Round Table, is the 4 yo a boy? If so he would prob like that as is all legends etc
Abbey Gardens (down on the Broadway near statue of King Alfred) has good playground
Lots of nice shops, pubs etc
Hotel du Vin nice for lunch
Marwell Zoo is good but about 10 miles away

No idea about places actually in Winchester, I've only made it as far as the High Street, but I do recommend the Park & Ride, St Catherines I think it's called and it's really easy to get to from here. Once you've got your ticket you can use any of the park and ride buses. It was really quick into the town centre and cheap

Big swimming pool with kids area is within walking distance of City Centre and has play areas just outside it as well as some fields, small river and lots of ducks.
