Hi everyone,
I don't often post on here but have been a lurker for ages now, and was wondering if you could send a little help my way.

I have just started running a magazine for parents of children aged 0-5 which as well as informative articles, advertises local business, like shops, places to go, things to do, child friendly pubs/restaurants, nurseries, etc. anything that would be of interest to parents of young children.

Do any of you great people know of any places like these that I could contact regarding advertising with us. Just your favourite places that you like to go with your LO's.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I know I don't live in cornwall, but I have visited with my kids a lot. If I was you I would go to the tourist office and grab all the leaflets and get in touch with any likely places! You have probably done this or searches online!
Places I remember...Hayle bird garden, the Seal Santuary, Lands End...all are fun for different reasons with little ones...
St.Michaels mount to see a real castle,
There are so many places...

Wish you luck!

Fiona

Thanks fiona,

I have never heard of the bird garden so will check into that. the other's I have already contacted.

Thanks for your help. Look out for small steps next time you're in the area, it may give you some more ideas for place to visit with the family.

The place in Hayle is called Paradise Park. There is also Cheney Farm Park near Hayle (St Erth). I presume you've contacted the obvious big places like Dairyland and so on. What about the Cornish Cyder Farm?

Good luck with your venture.

Hi ellebell,

Ah, yes I have contacted paradise park and cheney etc. I wasn't sure if the cyder farm was really a place for children. I have been there myself, though not fo a while, and don't really remember anything that would be of interest to pre-schoolers. I'll have a look and see if they have a web site to check out.

Thanks for your help.

Does anyone have any favourite restaurants where their kids are welcomed and have a good time?

Cyder Farm has animals for stroking, tractor rides and a nice cafe. Not a 'big day out' as such, but if you're in the area it's a nice way to spend an hour or two. It's also free!

We like the Lappa Valley railway, but you've probably thought of that one.

The Pizza Patio in Hayle (again!) has nice food and we've always found it very child-friendly. Don't have the number (not in the area) but it's on the main road.

Thanks again ellbell,

I have the pizza patio on my list of people to contact. I heard of it some where else on MN. Hayle seems to be apopular place at the moment, I'm surprised no one has come up with Newquay yet.

Just coincidence. My parents live in Hayle, so we're down there all the time.

I think the Pizza Patio may be a franchise or a chain of some sort, but I'm not sure where the other branches are.

Good luck again with the venture.

iesha · 13/03/2007 19:54

Thanks again ell,

There are 3 pizza patios in cornwall.. hayle, penzance and st ives. all seem to be owned by the same company. there wasn't any mention of others in the country though.
It does look really nice. I think I may just go myself some time.

Suspect no mention of Newquay because you were after family days out not places to go with a bunch of mates to get totally rat-arsed and have fights in the street
