Longleat or West Midlands?

I'm in South wales, so it is going to be a drive for either. My dc are three and one, so which one would be better for them?

Thanks. I'm not going to be around this afternoon, but will check later on!

I've heard West Midlands highly recommended.

Thanks TS,
Going to have a look at both their websites (and prices lol).

Longleat has Postman Pat village, a train, a boat, and a great adventure castle as well as the kids corner and the safari bit so good for the 3 year old especially.
You can use Tesco clubcard vouchers for Longleat.
Haven't been to the West Midlands one for ages, so can't compare.

You can you use tesco clubcard points for longleat, an adult passport ticket is normally £20 but only £5 of clubcard points and child is £4 of points instead of £16.

Longleat is pretty close to us so have been afew times and its very good. I last went when dd was 4 and ds was 1.5 and they loved it. When i was a child i went out of season and there was noone there so got to hold a baby lion in the pets area, not sure they'd do that now though! No idea what west midlands is like though.

We went to Longleat last year and it was fab. For us, one of the highlights was the boat ride around Gorilla Island when the seals swim alongside the boat and, of course, the gorillas themselves.

Also the drive through the Safari Park is jam packed with animals including the monkeys that did the obligatory poo on the car much to DS2's delight (wondered why DH was so keen to take my car that day!).

There's also loads of other things to see and do including the Butterfly exhibition and the maze, plus the house itself if you're interested in that type of thing.

If I remember rightly the tickets remain valid for another day if you don't manage to get around to doing it all. Have a great time wherever you decide to go!

Haven't been to Logleat have been to the WM Safari. You can use Tesco vouchers for both. WM is good, if you are just going for one day. The park is decent and there's a little theme park.

Food is rubbish there though. If I was going again, I would make the extra trip to Longleat, I hear that there is much more to do there.

Pesha · 08/03/2007 13:28

And if you're worried about the monkeys destroying your car you can easily miss them out

Meant to say with the pasport tickets they stamp off each attraction as you see it so anything you dont do that day you can come back another day and do.

We enjoyed West Midlands - particularly because you can interact/feed some of the animals as you drive around. In particular you can get really close to the giraffes which was a pleasure.

It also has a little theme park which is a bit tatty but popular.

Unfortunately never been to Longleat. Have been to Whipsnade (enjoyed this the least) and the Woburn which we can highly recommend. If going to Woburn don't miss the Lemur encounter - our favourite exhibit at any animal park/zoo.

I live about 4 miles from West midlands Safari park .
I have never been to Longleat but have seen it on the telly and it look's good.
West midland's is nice but quite pricey and be warned they have just put the price up again to
£9.50 per person and that is just to drive round the animals and doesn't include any of the rides.Incidentally if you do go there it is cheaper to buy a wrist band rather than ticket's for the rides.
