Looking for somewhere to go in oct half term that isn't too far and thought of here. Has anyone been? We have two small DC (5 and nearly not 3) is it suitable for them? Is it safe? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I think you need to look at some of the other responses about cape verde on here because I don't think there is a lot to do there other than laze around. my sister went a couple of months ago and hated it. sorry.

If you just want to chill out with the kids it's great. We went in October last year and just swam and ate and lounged around, nice and relaxing.

It is literally dessert like land with nice hotels and nice weather, so if you pick a hotel that has all you need and are happy to stay there go for it.

Thanks everyone. We're looing at Cyprus now as cheaper than canaries but still good weather.

Hi we went as a large family group of 13. Aged 2 year 5 years 8 years and adults. We stayed at thr riu garopa or funana in santa maria. Pools were great beach was fantastic but be warned waves are strong. Whole group loved it. Not any trouble at all. We went in november and it was fantastic. Have all said we would go back.
