Passport in maiden name - how do I renew kids?

Hi, any help is appeciated here! I have a holiday booked for the end of may for hubby, me and our two kids. I have booked my ticket in my maiden name, as I have a good few years left on my passport. Problem is, tonight I was renewing the kids passports and the form had me stumped. It was asking for my name and surname - do I write my maiden name (the one my current passport is in) or do I tell them my married name? Surely it would not be legal if I signed the passport with my maiden name? Any advice welcome! I'm considering calling the passport office tomorrow. I just don't want them to make my passport invalid when I tell them I am married due to the ticket being booked in my maiden name.

I read online that apparently it is legal to use your passport with your maiden name until it expires, but who knows

Um why is it illegal? I have been married for 12 years and my passport is still in my birth name. Surely you can just uae whatever is on the passport on the forms? I never thought I needed to include marriage certificate! The last passport form I did was 2 years ago, so unless things have changed?

Write the name that's on your passport. I kept my maiden name and never had a problem

And I never had to send in my marriage certificate with any of my kids passports.

I've already filled out the form then had a moment which made me search for these answers as I know I did the same mistake with my first borns passport app.
I've filled out in my married name but passport in Maiden, I'm quite happy to send my marriage certificate to verify but I don't want to send my passport just incase it goes missing, they can check this electronically right? There's not actually any need to send it. Or should I just make it easy and pick up a new form Monday and fill it in Maiden name?

Hi, I need to do my daughters passport cause we go on holiday in October but I have to put my passport information on her form but it’s still my old name and I got married last year and haven’t changed it to my new last name... can I still do her form and then just get my passport changed afterwards?

Hi guys, when i aply first for my child passport i was divorced but i had no name changed so i had to make her a passport to go home and changed my name by marriage again so i try to renew her pasaport now but my name doesn't much their records so they ask me for a marriage certificate but on that im on mai maiden name , so not sure what to do.Do i need to send them the divorce certificate as well. Help please.

Online passport in mother’s maiden name for child’s application

any idea if it’s ok to apply for my child’s first passport online if mine is still in my maiden name? I didn’t change it as we only got married 1 year after I got a new one. I saw on here that you could add a note and send a copy of marriage certificate, but I think this was before they introduced online applications as post was from 2017. I can’t see anywhere to add a note online. I also need to do this for 2 children so if I need to send a copy of my marriage certificate can I do this in one letter?

I don’t see why it’s a problem? I have never changed my name and I have applied for my children’s passport many times. Surely they ask only for the birth certificate? Unless the birth certificate isn’t in your maiden name? All my documents are not in my DH name so maybe why I don’t have any problems.
