Summer holiday recommendations

Looking for a week's break for family of four, primary aged children up to £2000. Looking for a mixture of relaxation and activities, we aren't hugely sporty! Happy to drive, just had a look at the Netherlands, Duinrell which looks like an option.
Any ideas?

Only 90 min from Duinrell, your children are the right age, it's magical.

Loads to do in the Netherlands plus there are windmills

Thank you, just been looking at De Efteling, would you stay there or just visit from Duinrell?
We recently had a few days in the Netherlands and were really impressed. Have you been in the summer? Would like some sunshine if possible!

Have been in both summer and September.

Sunny in summer, still v good weather in September, only one rainy day.

Never been to Duinrell but there is a big Efteling fan club on here who have stayed there (we were adults travelling from Utrecht and my mean DH refused to stay in the fairytale hotel )

As you will have found, everywhere is quite close together so travelling time anywhere is v short.

Can I ask which accommodation you went for?
