Worldwide Trip with Little One - What to Pack and How?

Hi, I am going on a round the world trip with my Husband and dd who will be 18months (we didn;t get it out of our systems when we were younger and without child).

We'll be visiting some very westernised places but also a lot of less developed countries. I would appreciate any advice on what to pack for her and how best to carry everything that she'll need. Also, any must visits would be appreciated.

Thanks

Laura

Sounds fantastic, fabulous experience for your lo. Make sure you take a good first aid kit, including bandages, syringes etc, to cover all accidents as you may not find anything when you need it. Oh and i would take some sterilising tabs too. Hope you have fun.

I would take my huggababy sling

You don't need much.
Sturdy buggy and calpol did us just fine.

we are going to Oz for 10 weeks with 18 month dd, will be taking one weeks worth of clothes, 4 mini teletubbies, 1 teady bear, 1 granny bag and 1 small chalk board and 1 blow up ball, means that I can take all my favourite shoes. Oh will also be taking dh.Anything else will buy there.

We took 18mo dd2 to Guatemala and Canada 2 years ago (along with older dd1 and ds). Best thing was the backpack - we had a bushbaby backpack which has a couple of HUGE pockets for gear as well as being super comfy to carry. Take calpol, the antimalarials you will need in different places, water tabs and some little toys - and WIPES!

Hi Harrisey - first time for me on mumsnet but interested to know if the airline let you take your bushbaby carrier onto the plane? I am travelling to NZ by myself with HRH 10 mths at the end of the month and freaking out about how I carry her and all the paraphenalia that we will need. It will take us 48 hrs door to door. Any suggestions very welcome. Thanks
