I am going to NYC next week with dh he will be working in the daytime so I will need to entertain myself.
I have an awful sense of direction and am a bit dopey generally😢
Any tips suggestions for what an I confident traveller should do?
I am determined not to spend all day in the hire reading ( tempting as that is)

Most of Manhattan is laid out on a numbered grid system so it's really quite hard to get lost. The subway is also really easy and cheap if you want to go somewhere that's too far to walk. Definitely get out and about and see the sights, there's so much to do! If you've got a smartphone you can always use google maps if you do get lost.

It's so easy to find your way around, as Rusholme said, the city is laid out in a grid. Look at a map before you go and familairise yourself a little with it. All streets and avenues are well signposted on each corner so it's easy to find your bearings.
The Subway is easy to use but walking around is great if you're not going too far - there's so much to see which you'd miss while underground.
