Hand luggage rules on return flight

Is it just on the way out that you have to abide by all the hand luggae rules? I'm just wondering if other countries (ie; Uganda) have the same rules. Hoping not!

have been told by travel agent that it only apllies to leaving the uk

Our rules only apply to the UK - other countries may have their own.

no idea on uganda, but retuning from geneva it was exactly the same

suedonim · 04/03/2007 13:53

Depends on the airline, I think.

we had no rules at all flying home from barbados yesturday.... luggage not even weighed and mine was over 10kg over!

we could take whatever we wanted except knives on the plane and more than 1 bit of luggage. no restricton on fluids either...

moral of story is if u are a terrorist by a return ticket and blow up plane on way home me thinks!

Uganda - no idea.

Within EU - currently the same as outbound flights from the UK, according to my frequent-flyer (aka frequently absent) DH.

prettybird · 05/03/2007 00:23

The same rules apply across the EU.

Just be sure the flight from Uganda doesn't stop en route - otherwise you migh get caught out by having to go back through secuirty in transit.

Varies - its just been introduced in some Middle East countries and Sudan, or so I hear.

Best bet is to play safe as you don't want to argue with customs/security people in uganda.
