Where is warm for Oct week?

I am due a large operation soon and won't have recovered sufficiently for a summer holiday - looking at the school holiday week in October.

We usually camp in Europe in summer, but are thinking of maybe a week AI (never done this) with 3dc in the Oct week.

Where is still warm enough that they could play in the pool without getting too close? We can sit a relax!

Recommendations welcome - not sure if Greece, Cyprus or Canaries still warm enough then. TIA

Malta?

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 04/03/2017 17:23

Crete can be nice and warm that time of year.

G1ggleloop · 04/03/2017 17:26

We went to lanzarote last October. It was baking. Far hotter than we expected. Greece can be a bit hit or miss in October.

TubbyMcFatfuck · 04/03/2017 17:26

I've been to Tenerife several times in October and it's always been lovely and warm.
Good luck with your operation.

We went to Malaga last October hols and it was gorgeous

goldangel · 04/03/2017 17:35

Cyprus & Canaries will still be hot.

IrregularCommentary · 04/03/2017 17:39

Canary Islands probably your best bet.

TheTartOfAsgard · 04/03/2017 17:41

Limassol. Been twice in October, it's lovely Grin

blueskyinmarch · 04/03/2017 17:45

I went to Cyprus last November. It was glorious. Canaries will also be lovely.

FortyFacedFuckers · 04/03/2017 17:47

I have been to canaries several times in October and are still warm.

champagneplanet · 04/03/2017 17:47

Canaries is your best bet

Mammyofonlyone · 04/03/2017 17:49

I read an article in the paper a couple of years ago saying that Ibiza is meant to be fantastic in October. The old town is apparently beautiful and all the crazy clubbers have shipped out by then. It did sound great

topcat2014 · 04/03/2017 17:50

We have booked for Cyprus for that week - averages 22, up to 27.
Should be fine - according to my Cypriot barber this morning/

wickedfairy · 04/03/2017 19:19

Thank you all - looks like the Canaries are popular!
I've just had a look at the prices - ouch! We are a family of 5, it's definitely not cheap....

I'd be really interested to hear if you find any good options - were also a family of 5 - definitely makes it trickier as so many packages are designed for families of four.

blibblibs · 06/03/2017 19:58

Another saying Malta, still warm into December so should be fine in October

Goldenhandshake · 09/03/2017 12:58

Canaries, Cape Verde or possibly Malta will be your best bet

franke · 09/03/2017 13:02

We went to Turkey last October and it was glorious. I know lots of people are nervous about going there at the moment, but we loved it and didn't feel unsafe at all.

I've been all over Greece and to Sicily and southern Spain in October. Crete is probably the most reliable option in Greece but you can get good weather anywhere. The first time I went to Sicily in mid October it was in the high 20s/low 30s. The next time it was cooler and rainy for half the week, mid 20s the rest. But Sicily is expensive. Andalucia was high 20s.

Most places in the Med will be the same, but the further south you go, the more reliable it is. However I often do October holidays and have never had more than two days rain in a week.
