Day flight or night flight

Hi there mummies,

I'll be doing a long haul flight (13 hours) with a 6-month old soon. Can anyone give me advice as to whether a day flight or night flight might be better for the little one? I.t.o. sleep etc.

Snowi - I have done a fair few flights of a similar length with kids of differeing ages.

In my experience a night flight sounds like a good idea in theory, BUT if your little one doesn't sleep well, you have to stay awake too and it can be exhausting. It can also be stressful if everyone around you is asleep and you are having to cope with an awake/crying baby.

At least with a daytime flight you won't be tired. The last few times I have done flights of this length I have done them during the day and they have been better. Do order a bassinet from the airline for your babe to sleep in too - they are really handy.
