Somewhere walkable to sights/cafes + kids club

Looking for somewhere that offers organised activities for kids, as well as being within walking distance of some nice cafes, tourist sights, public transport etc.

Has anyone found anything that fits the bill?

Most of the resorts with kids clubs seem to be fairly remote / designed for you to stay there all week. Having never done a resort holiday before, would love to find something that was a bit more of a gentle introduction, with elements of things we have enjoyed on city/town breaks of pre-kid years, and without the need for a hire car.

when are you looking at going and how old are your kids? We went to Rhodes and Rhodes Town has ferries to other islands, museums, quaint shops etc. but it's very hot in mid-summer so it depends on when you want to go. The greeks were wonderful with Ds though.

Ooh, Rhodes sounds good. Where did you stay?
Primary school DC. Probably going away in August this year but would love to hear of all options (and saving Rhodes as an option for October or May half term next time).

Costa Adeje in Tenerife have a few options that fit the bill. Most of the hotels have kids clubs but are in walking distance of beach, restaurants and various activites.
Iberostar Anthelia is a lovely - if very pricey - option, or Isabel family hotel less expensive, but lots of other hotels as well. No need for a car transfers from the airport take less than half an hour in a taxi.
