cause it seems to be!

we stayed at the Alex last time (midtown) but the rates have gone up unbelievably.

we'd like to be near soho (dh's office) if poss but if it were in another ultra family friendly area that would compensate.

we'd ideally like not to be in the same room as ds. and like a kitchen.

any recs?

Did you try places like the Embassy Suites? They do two bed suites with kitchenettes I think. I know there's one in the financial district (not ideal I know). We have a corp rate there of about $300 a night, but I'm not sure what the rack rate is.
