Letter from passport office

Just got a letter from the passport office saying that they need to get written permission from my wife so I can apply for a passport for our son.
Something to do with us not being married, though we've been together for 16years!

Our daughters application, which was in the same envelope, was no problem:/

It's normal for all people with PR to give their consent.

Send them the letter, perhaps one each in case the request relating to your DD arrives in the next post.

Or perhaps you have PR only for one child (the rules changed about whether being named on the BC automatically confers PR to an unmarried father - can't remember date - early 00s?)

You'll have to give permission if she takes them abroad as well. And vice versa. It's to stop parental abduction.
