opportunity to go to Rio

My husband has a business trip to Rio just at the beginning of the school holidays.

I'm posting a little nervously to ask for advice about travel there and best plan for teenage and pre-teen boy...

And even more nervously to ask about the cost....

I just came back from there. I spent a week with my 13 year old in Ipanema and Copacabana. The beach is great but those two areas are not cheap. Taxis are cheap and the metro is only the equivalent of £1 per journey
