Well, it's 250 miles so even averaging 80mph it'll take 3 and a bit hours, and the traffic on the M5/6 can be hideous, esp through the roadworks round the SAtafford services.

I reckon it'll take 4hrs allowing for traffic and wee breaks, maybe a bit more.

themoon66 · 22/02/2007 14:18

try looking on the AA routefinder... it shows milage and average time.

MrsBadger · 22/02/2007 14:18

oh, meant to say, even if it takes 4 hrs it's hardly longhaul, is it?

mrcandmre · 22/02/2007 14:19

The distance from Gretna Green to Gloucester is 253.6 miles. Assume an average walking speed of 3 miles an hour (20 minute miles).

So, 253.6miles divided by 3mph = 84.5 hours

This distance is on motorways and dual carriages ways though, so walking on them wouldn't be possible so an alternative and, therefore, longer route would probably be required.

Hulababy · 22/02/2007 14:21

LOL, I miss read this as how long to walk it!

mrcandmre · 22/02/2007 14:23

LOL!
I thought to myself....84 hours....f$ that..LOL

No, I'm just after the average person's driving time+wee wee breaks.

LOL!
