Feb half term sunshine - where to go?

I've never booked a hotel/package type holiday, but wanted to book a week somewhere warm (thinking Canaries) in Feb half term with a budget of £1600 for 2 adults and 3 kids - at least half board. I've been searching, but am frankly lost!! Can anyone make any suggestions, or narrow things down for me (or is my budget unrealistic)

Canaries are best bet..But be prepared for cool evenings. Budget too low.. Will be at least £2500.. Unless you are prepared to go midweek eg tues to tues..

Wouldn't mind Monday to Monday and then the kids would only miss one day of school. Which of the Canary Island would you recommend?

Have only been to Lanzarote so can't compare to others.. We go in May half term.. We stay in Puerto Del Carmen as we know people there.. It's a big resort but we like it... The resort Playa Blanca is smaller and is lovely
