Clearwater vs St Petes

Any views ? We go in August with kids 7,14,14

Interested -I'm looking at both or Key Largo. 3 similar aged DC!
We had a day in Clearwater 5 years ago when we were staying in Orlando and it is beautiful.

I stayed at both. I preferred Clearwater as I felt there was more to do, and I liked the beach.
My husband preferred St Petes beach as it was quieter.

Both were really pleasant and I'd go back to either

I've been to St Pete's and it is very quiet. There were times we had the beach to ourselves!

The Keys are beautiful though much busier.

St Pete's is beautiful and an oasis of calm after the head wreck that is Orlando

We stayed at st Petes on the beach, last August, very chilled I would say. Lots of kids activities in the hotel. We went to Clearwater for the day to go on the sea screamer and see Dolphins. Clearwater seemed much busier and lively so I'd say depends what you want. We appreciated the calm after Orlando!

Which ever one is nearer to caladesi island. (I think it's Clearwater). Caladesi was beautiful.
