Hi AF. Hope you are well. Croatia is gorgeous. We went to Split and some of the islands and would highly recommend it. Food great, people lovely and the scenery is out of this world.

Beautiful place we have been a few times and going again this year. I can recommend Stari Grad on Hvar Island, Korcula, Split, Dubrovnik and Cavtat. Planning to visit some other islands this year - very easy to travel down/up the dalamtian coast by ferry stopping off at different islands.

The stopping off at the different island thing ?

You have to book accommodation in advance in June, I guess. That sounds a bit advanced for a complete novice Smile

We just stayed on one island but it's easy to visit others for day trips. There are loads of boat tours.
If you do go to Croatia, make sure you get accommodation with air con. We had a lovely villa but it only had ceiling fans and it was unbearably hot... Stayed in a hotel with air con on the last night and it was heavenly!

Hi, My wife and I have been three times, in fact, we got married there in 2013 on the island of Vis.
1st time we went we flew into Split and made our way through the country flying out of Dubrovnik 2 weeks later. We stayed on three different islands in that time (Vis, Brac, Korcula), travelling from each via the local ferries which are cheap and frequent. We also stayed in Split and Dubrovnik. The accommodation was booked as we travelled.
Food is Italian influenced. The people are fantastic and extremely friendly. As stated above if you are going in high season get air con.

Hi, sorry to gatecrash thread but hoping someone can advise.
We are going at the beginning of June. What can we expect weather wise? I guess the sea temperature is not too high. What about evenings? Thank you!

Croatia is beautiful. I found it a little more expensive than France or Italy for accommodation.

The first time I was there was in June and it was warm and sunny.

Second time was August and it was hit!

I loved further up the coast- trogir and zadar were beautiful and plitvice was simply stunning and worth the drive!

Another novice question- are there any sandy beaches easily accessible for a one week holiday?
