apart from the cathedral, what is there to do and/or see in Canterbury please?
I'll be visiting some close family who are going there for a few days. I'll just be there for half a day and would like to arrange something fairly special to do. Any tips please? They are in their seventies so not hill walking or rock climbing Grin
TIA

A good website with things that are on (Christmas events, shows, music, art galleries, etc)

www.canterbury.co.uk/events/

In the summer you can go for a punt along the river which is beautiful and relaxing but not sure if it's open in winter - there are also really lovely guided boat tours that depart from the old weavers restaurant (near patisserie Valerie on the high street)

Maybe take them for a traditional afternoon tea somewhere - lots of tourists love tiny Tim's tearoom but it's quite pricey, they sometimes have live piano playing.

There are lots of cozy traditional pubs full of ye olde real ale type beer and roaring fireplaces.

Thank you Blumkin. I think it will be February.
Tiny Tims looks fab. The Bleaney House Art and knowledge place looks interesting too.
