We're thinking of driving to Germany this summer, probably early August for a couple of weeks. It would be me, dh and two teens (17 and 14) plus dog. We have family near Essen but as the Ruhrgebiet isn't the most beautiful bit of the country that would just be a quick hello. We were thinking of Hamburg then Berlin and finishing in Köln. Hoping to do forest walks with a bit of city too.
Would that be too much driving? And how dog-friendly is Germany in general?
