Any tips for Hamburg please

We are off to Hamburg for a few days to visit the Christmas markets & have got a guide book.

However, would be grateful to receive any recommendans of must-sees or must-do's from those who have been there (or live there!)

Every time. Even if you'd normally have no interest in trains or model things. We went with my Dad for his 60th. It was his choice of venue. DM, DSis and I thought we'd sidle out after a few hours and go shopping. We ended up spending the whole day there. It's brilliant.

Do book an entry time slot in advance if you can though. Much better than standing in line.

It's not Christmas specific, but try to visit the fish market. I worked in Hamburg for a few months back in the 90s and loved the fish market best. Especially if you go out late and finish the night (or morning) there.

I've been twice for the Christmas markets, they're lovely! And there are so many that you hardly need a guidebook, you can just hop from one to the next in a matter of minutes. Last time we stayed here which is quite a cool place just to hang out for a drink as well.
