Lapland santa trips December 2017 - advice please!

Hello! Thinking of booking to take family to Lapland in December 2017. Lots of companies arrange trips, and huge variation in prices. Can anybody recommend a good company, where to go, what to do etc? Want an "authentic" Santa experience, rather than being shuttled round in a crowd. Thinking of going for 3-4 nights. There will be 9 of us - 4 adults, grandmother, and 4 children aged from 4 to 10.
Thanks very much! Smile

We've used Canterbury Travel and did 2 nights away. They were really good. The kids had a great time and it had a magical feel. Be prepared for it not to be cheap though...

Canterbury travel here too twice (10year age gap!). We did 5 days in luosto both times and it was absolutely amazing. It won't be cheap but there are deals if you book early (Jan/Feb) and once you're there there is hardly anything to spend money on. It's so magical for all ages.

Have just replied on the other Lapland thread, if you don't want to be shuttled round in a big group I would recommend booking flights and a cabin rather than a package. That's what we did and works out a lot cheaper too.

Previous boss of mine has a property in lapland. Might work out cheaper?
