Considering an 8 day trip to Morocco for next October half term. We have a 15, 5 and 3 year old. Any suggestions for itinerary? Looking at flying into and out of Marrakesh, but we can hire a car and go anywhere from there.

We love Morocco & have been a couple of times with the kids. First time we flew into Agadir, drove to Taroudant & had a night there. then drove up into the Atlas mountains through the Tizi n Test pass. Then had couple of nights in mountains. Then down to Marrakesh, then over to Essaouira. We loved it. In a week you could go to Marrakes & Essaouria and maybe Atlas.

The 2nd time we went down to Mirleft on the coast south of Agadir & rented a wonderful house overlooking the sea. Beaches are beautiful and its very undeveloped & unspoilt. Fabulous surfing down there if your 15 year old is into that. The beaches are beautiful - bit like north Cornwall & you will have them pretty much to yourself.

I really liked Fes in Morocco - tiny streets that only donkeys can get down and fascinating houses and courtyards.

Essaouria was very laid back - though I think some building work is going on there now.

Thanks both! I've heard not so great things about Fes so nice to hear opinions to the contrary.

Mirleft and Agadir sound wonderful! But as we're flying into Marrakesh, then maybe that and Essaouria, this trip at least! Which parts of th Atlas Mountains would be most accessible for the little ones?
