animal kingdom!

Ulysees · 16/02/2007 14:06

bump

when are you going mrspink?

paulaplumpbottom · 16/02/2007 14:17

Animal Kingdom, the zoos are really just as good as eachother. Busch Gardens is better if you want the coasters. Its also in Tampa and will take you about an hour to get there. More if traffic is bad. They are digging up parts of I4 at the moment so it probably will be. Save Busch Gardens for when they are in their teens.

winterpimms · 16/02/2007 14:25

Yes, agree Animal Kingdom. Are you staying in Orlando? If so, definitely and taking your dc ages into account.

Have a fab time

Ulysees · 16/02/2007 14:32

Animal Kingdom.

They are both really good, but agree for younger children Animal Kingdom is better.

unknownrebelbang · 16/02/2007 15:57

Animal Kingdom is fab.

Can someone tell me more about Busch Gardens please.

We went 20 years ago, so obviously it will have changed beyond recognition, and we're thinking of going when we go to Florida at Christmas.

paulaplumpbottom · 16/02/2007 15:59

What do you want to know?

unknownrebelbang · 16/02/2007 16:00

What's it like, and what's it got basically?

bogie · 16/02/2007 16:01

i say busch gardens i love it been to florida 11 times and it is imo prob the best theame park (apart from islands of adventure) but it depends soooo much on ages of you children disney parks untill about 11 ys i think then universal!

bogie · 16/02/2007 16:03

and not trying to spoil it but i would NEVER AGAIN go at xmas time you will be queuing for HOURS we go always end oct begining nov its empty but still lovley and warm plus you get american style halloween

paulaplumpbottom · 16/02/2007 16:19

Agree with Bogey I never go home in the summer or at Christmas. End of Oct is perfect and the weather is lovely as long as you don't get a hurricane.

Busch Gardens is a big open zoo. Probably the best zoo I have ever been to. It also has the best collection of coasters in the world. Loads of ways to throw up your lunch.

Ulysees · 16/02/2007 18:43

Mrspink, if you only buy one guide book make it Fodor Orlando. It doesn't have pretty pictures but is way up to date and helps you so much. We always buy one when we go. Mine is 2 years out of date but you can have it if I find it (and you want it) though you'd be better getting a 2007 one.

Are you wanting wild rides? You won't find many at animal kingdom though from what I remember there's a pretty hair raising dinosaur ride. There's an amazing play area where you dig up dinosaur bones etc.. your 2 will love it.

Feeling I wish I was going. Only place in the US I'll see this year is Texas, going with bf to meet his family and friends.

Oati · 16/02/2007 18:48

mrspink - we've stayed at Lake Davenport - the Bahama bay - it was fab

Ulysees · 16/02/2007 18:49

oh and if you do go to animal kingdom the It's tough to be a bug show will be too scary for you dds. You can take it in turns though to see it if you ask staff. It's good but made my two really jump!

Ulysees · 16/02/2007 18:53

Actually, I'm thinking it'd be a good idea to take me with you. I can watch the dds whilst you ride and babysit too
I can guide you around the parks.......well....I'll try!! haha

mears · 16/02/2007 18:53

Animal Kingdom

Oati · 16/02/2007 18:54

my 5 yr old hated teh bug show - had to take him out, crying hysterically - and he wasn't teh only one - the 3 yr old, however, loved it

Ulysees · 16/02/2007 18:57

Oati, your 3 year old sounds like my ds2 Make us look like whimps dont' they?

unknownrebelbang · 16/02/2007 19:31

We've been at Christmas before (2004) and tbh there was far less queueing than we expected, which surprised us, although we did make good use of the fastpass system at Disney and planned well.

Wouldn't consider taking the children out of school for more than 1/2 days so October is out of the question (although would be lovely I agree)

Too late now anyway, it's already booked!

Oati, we are staying at Bahama Bay.... waht do we need to know???!!!

We arent going for the rides, my two are far to young and wussy for that!!! We are merely going for the animals, tbh the drive doesnt worry us, as we are limiting ourselves to 2 parks sea world and a n other, was just interested to know the differences and which would be better, I know they are going to be vast!
