It is by far our cheapest option for holiday to Portugal - so it's not an overly long flight. We have 2 kids - 1 1/2 years old and 3 1/2 but we buying the 1 1/2 year old a seat. Can you let me know your thoughts - or should i cough up the additional £500 and fly BA?

Personally, I'd fork out the extra!!

We flew with them last year to Majorca. We were only going for a week and we were delayed for 24 hours so lost a whole day of our holiday. Something happened to our plane and they couldn't get another one - I don't think that would happen with BA - you'd always get another plane and get out the same day.

We had 3 boys with us - 5, 3 and 18 months. I have to admit, they treated us really well but the delay was just unacceptable really.

am beginning to think that.....
the total cost of the flight with them is c£700. BA is £1300 and Easyjet £1000....hmmmm...

sorry for the hijack..anyone else having flown with them?

Yes - seven times but mainly because we had no choice. They get you from A to B eventually. Despite booking childrens meals on every flight, we only actually got them once. That said they were so additive laden that I was happier with the adult meals tbh. We never had a 24 hour delay like gdg, but 4 hours as a regular enough occurence.

We have flown with them once on a skiing trip and all was fine (but this was a few years ago). My MIL has used them a couple of times and says good things about them and used them just recently.

We went to St Kitts and they were great, ditto to Crete. Nice leather seats, flights were on time. Food OK.

Have flown with them without any problems.Would have no problems flying with them again. Used to work in a travel agents and don't recall ever getting a complaint about them - unlike some.
Notice earlier thread about BA not having delays - tend to find that the difference is that excel are charter flights where as BA are schedule flights and schedule flights do tend to be more reliable.

yes they were fine have flown to Tobago and Grenada with them, but in the days when they had 3 classes and we flew in the middle one. I think they have binned it now and only have el cheapo and quite a bit more.

Have flown with them on at least 6 occasions to Greece, Turkey, & Lanzarote. No delays, no problems, and I'd choose them over most other charter companies every time.

I will never, however, fly with Monarch ever again!!
