Caravanning over the Christmas holidays.

Hi,
I want to book a caravan site (for a tourer) over the school holidays.

Ideally I'd like it to be somewhere beautiful, close to water of any kind. I'd also like it to be within 2/3 hours drive of NW Lancs.

Because it will be cold, a fully serviced pitch would be great, but as long as there's an electric hook-up and warm showers, I could manage.

Must accept dogs too.

Lovely mnetters... can you give me your recommendations please!

Not sure of the time to drive there, but Fforest Fields is open over christmas, is beautiful, has a lake, fab showers etc

Is that Wales CMOT?

Tried googling... it's there, but when I click on it it says website cannot be found. Thank you though; I'll keep trying.

Any recommendations for North Yorkshire Dales, north Cumbria, Dumfries and Galloway areas?

The caravan club site at Coniston is lovely. Not sure if it's open but I think it is.

Think this'll be too far, but Kingsbury water park near Tamworth (just north of Birmingham) is where my parents often go. It's open all year round, and the shower blocks have underfloor heating! Very nice!!

Thanks!

I really love Coniston (it's very close to my parents' house), but want to go a little further north this time if I'm heading for the Lakes.

I'll check out the Tamworth site.

Still looking and hoping for more inspiration.
I'm thinking remote and peaceful... possibly coastal.

Castlerigg caravan site if that's open?

How about Burrs Country Park in Bury. You might not have considered it as it sounds like its in the industrial north. River runs past there's a nice pub serving meals just off site called the garsdale. About 15 minutes walk into town plus if you want a change the tram runs from Bury into Manchester.
