Went to the Flamingo Hilton (4 *), all inclusive. Very highly rated on the holiday/hotel review websites. Food was fab, lots of kids clubs and entertainment and great pools. Nice rooms, only downside was not enough lifts so you could queue for ages

About 15 minutes walk from Aqualandia (fab water park) and 10 minutes from the beach.

Went a week before England school summer holidays (16th July) in 2005.

Booked with Thomas Cook, paid about £1200 for two adults and a 4 year old (1 year old was free).

It was fairly busy as I think Scotland were already on summer hols, and not exactly relaxing. Had to get a towel down by the poolside by about 8.30 am for a good spot. Obviously because its all inclusive people don't generally adventure out much.

Lots of things on throughout the day and evening so great for the kids

Look at holidays-uncovered.co.uk for other more recent reviews (in case its gone right down hill since then)

Yep - a chocolate loving Kim!

By the way, don't go to Benidorm for the culture, we went for the convenience of a short flight and the good hotel, waterpark etc.

The skyline is awful, so built up (but you dont' go there thinking otherwise I suppose) and the beach is like sardines. Just wanted to be in a decent hotel in the sun
