Dieppe to Brittany - ideas for a stop-over

We're driving from Dieppe to southern Brittany and need some ideas for interesting places to stop over for a night or two with two children (7 and 9). Cheap but nice hotels, theme or water parks, any ideas most gratefully received!
Thanks, B

Bee, I think the biggest attraction between Dieppe and Southern Brittany is possibly Le Puy du Fou, from which you would travel due West and maybe even a little north to hit the Brittany/Vendee borders. All depends if you are prepared to deviate from a fairly straight A-B route. We haven't been but friends with a knights-and-castles mad eight year old son said the arena shows were unforgettable (sieges, jousting etc) and they also said the formal gardens etc were fantastic for those who don't find son et lumiere that great. It has hotels etc on site.
We are travelling Dieppe - Northern Brittany and opted to arrive late afternoon and stay in the Pays d'Auge (Normandy) on the way out (Le Cardinal at Annebault, Logis de France with playground and children's menu), and on the way back, stay at the Villa des Capucins, a nice sounding chambre d'hotes in Dieppe itself. But our journey is shorter and our ds younger.

Marina, that's really helpful thanks a lot. Did you book the hotels direct?
Anyone else been to Puy du Fou or anywhere nearby?
