Would be like
LGW to anywhere just for the day/few hours
A Saturday in Feb or March

Edinburgh or Dublin

Costacoffeeplease · 20/11/2016 16:26

The shortest flights are going to be Glasgow/Manchester/Belfast/Paris/Amsterdam - any of those appeal?

Microwaste · 20/11/2016 16:27

The first flight I ever did (I was an adult) was to the US. Does it have to be a short one? Could they not plan a weekend city break or something? Would be less restricting than looking for somewhere to get there and back in a day.

Channel Islands maybe?

HelenaJustina · 20/11/2016 16:35

Jersey

Try Skyscanner. Put the destination as 'everywhere' and the month as February or March. I've just had a very quick look and there's a Ryanair flight to Belfast arriving at 10.20am and leaving at 7.50pm the same day (Saturday 4th Feb) for £27 return.

Inverness!!! Amazing views and short hop into town

HatePaperDoll · 20/11/2016 16:41

Belfast City (George Best) airport. It's about an hour flight from LGW and the airport is 5 minutes by taxi from the city centre/Titanic exhibition.

QOD You're welcome, glad to be of help. Dublin sounds like a great choice Smile

Hersetta427 · 21/11/2016 13:00

Look at skyscanner. leave the destination blank and it will give you the options in price order - cheapest first. Usually Milan is very cheap - does he have a passport?

QOD · 21/11/2016 23:04

Thanks hersetta it's all booked

Day in Dublin 😀
Dd is a 6th former so no money for hotels etc. I shall drive them to LGW and visit Brighton for the day and collect them again in the evening.

They'll both get some euros for Xmas

He's going to be so thrilled

We've been abroad so many times, dd has been all over and he's just wanting to get in a plane.
Such a great idea of hers
