I appreciate this is an old post but I can't find any others on here with experience of these resorts. Has anyone been to either? Thanks!
OP, if you're still here, where did you go?

Anyone? Bump.
I cannot find ANY other posts on Mumsnet about Caribe Royale, and all reviews online seem to be from Americans so was wondering if anybody on here had any feedback?
Friends have stayed at Bahama Bay and enjoyed it

Have stayed at Bahama Bay several times pre covid and really rated it. Huge apartments, lots of pools and just a short drive from the Disney Resorts. IIRC we booked direct with apartment owners rather than through the resort and it was cheaper that way.

We've stayed at BB twice. If we were going back to Orlando, I'd stay again (I'm not usually a fan of staying at the same place over again).
Huge spacious apartments/condos and reasonably priced. We booked direct with an owner the second time.
We get a three bed, it has a main bathroom then an en suite in the master room). Balconies/patios in two of the bedrooms and the living room.
It really is a home from home.
Multiple pools to choose from, and hot tubs. Really good after a day at the parks. There are bars at the pool but we usually take our own alcohol and drinks down to the pools Grin as obviously the fridge is big enough for all your own food and drink, etc.
Definitely recommend

We avoided booking Caribe Royale after hearing other people's experiences, as without a car it seemed a distance from everything such as nice restaurants, shops etc. We'd have either had to hire a car (not against this) or spent a fortune in taxis to everywhere we wanted to go.
They did have a shuttle to Disney, but not to Universal (which is 10 miles away). Also the shuttle seemed such a fuss with the booking system.
The prices in the restaurants and bars within the resort seemed extortionate, and with no local alternative in walking distance, it put me off.
Also, it looked like it was mainly used for conferences, so full of big groups of Americans on short business trips there constantly.

We opted for a self catering condo, in closer proximity to shops, restaurants and bars, and also the bus stops to the parks. We could grab a food shop every couple of days, to make packed lunches for park days and to have breakfast in the apartment, and we could have our own drinks for round the pool.
It also had a washing machine which was great for washing everything before we came home, or even if we wanted something again whilst there. Means you can also pack less I guess!
