Days out New Years day

We're based in West Yorkshire and just looking for something to do with the kids on New Year's Day but most things I've seen are closed, does anyone know of anything that is open and they can recommend? Tia

Where in W Yorks are you? We are in Calderdale and usually go for a bracing walk on the moors followed by tea in the pub.
