Christmas beach holiday

Any ideas on where to go on holiday for Christmas? I want to lie on the beach drinking cocktails!

It's our honeymoon so looking for something special. Have got up to £5k but ideas that cost less welcome.

Would really like a fancy hut on the beach but happy to consider hotels too.

In the Caribbean you would easily get islands such as the Dominican republic within your budget. Would definitely recommend punta cana in the east - there are some great hotels there.

We have been to the Maldives twice at Xmas but think they may bust the budget.

Check out Grande Pineapple in Antigua - that should fall within your budget for just 2 of you. We have been there a number of times.

Ambergris Caye, Belize. a bit different from the usual Caribbean holiday. lots of choice for hotels etc and you can do some brilliant excursions from here too.
