Holiday for me & my teenage sporty boy

DS and I are going to brave first holiday just the two of us next summer. He's a very sporty just teenager - only child so no siblings to keep each other entertained.
He loved loved loved previous 'family' holidays (fucking nightmare with my impossible to please ex but that is another thread). We went to Florida a lot - not for Disney, he's totally not interested, but for the great hotels with lakes to canoe and fish in, bike tracks, basket ball courts, mega swimming pools etc. Also, the other stuff to see like sea world and NFL etc.
No way can I afford this and anyway that was what we did then .... this is now.
Any suggestions for a sporty resort style complex that would do this sort of thing but in Europe please? I really need this to be a success.

PGL have centres in UK and France and pitch their activities so families can do it together or in separate ability groups. I took my DC on one as a SP and had an amazing time.

how about Club la Santa in Lanzarote? I've been there a couple of times and loved it. The accommodation is a bit spartan, but you're out and about the whole time anyway. Very reasonable rates and flights are pretty cheap too.

WalterWhitesNipple · 17/10/2016 09:44

Went to Lanzarote last month and there was so much to do we couldn't fit it all in! We went on a submarine safari, hired bikes for the afternoon, played volleyball and tennis, went to the aquarium, fishing and went on a tour up the mountains. We only spent about €300 the whole week as well. (all inclusive)

have a look at club vass and ocean elements in particular in vasiliki. they have watersports holidays with everything included and ocean elements has an afternoon teens/tweens club with organised activities for all the kids on site. great fun.

i third Neilsons - been with them several times with our only dd. She's always been smaller but had a blast of a time in the clubs. The teens looked like they had a lot of fun and would roam the resort in groups, having dinner together whilst the parents got to socialise (couple and singles) in the mixed tables - so you get adult stimulation too - if you want it of course ;)

And this year they've added Sardinia and Croatia so very excited to be going back with them

Neilsons get my vote too. If you don't want to participate yourself they will even discount the price for you as a "landlubber"
