Can anyone recommend somewhere good to go in Southern France, possibly Spain

We are going over to France to Centre Parcs for a week and have decided that we might drive down to somewhere else for anyother week afterwards, possibly as far as Spain and then get the ferry back.

There is myself, dh, dd (7) and ds (1.5). We'd like somewhere very family friendly that has lots to do - possibly near the beech but not essential.

Water park, theme park maybe?!?!? Some nice day trips to entertain the kids - maybe a animal park or something?

I answered your other thread about Siblu sweetheart. In the daytrip orbit from the area we are visiting are:

La Palmyre Zoo, apparently one of the nicest in Europe

Futuroscope (nr Poitiers) a terrific science theme park

La Rochelle, wonderful old port, a bit like Brighton in Paris-by-the-Sea ambiance - raffish and cosmopolitan

Futuroscope would make a good stopover on this sort of journey, am assuming the Centre Parc is northern France-ish

oh thanks everyone - i will start having a look into these suggestions! Aznerak, your parents place sounds perfect - the only thing I am worried about is the driving, we did it last year down to a place near Brieve (sp???) and it was a nightmare with the kids - it was a 12 hour round trip! Any suggestions? Centre Parcs is about 4 hours from Calais so we are getting the euro tunnel over. Will have to check out the location of your place to see what the travelling would be like

Marina - will check our your Siblu suggestions - I have looked at the Brittany area and another one so far!

THANK YOU!!!!!!

Well I've just looked and it does look beautiful and ideal BUT it's already booked and as it's 4 bedrooms it's a bit expensive for us. I'll keep it in mind though for another year when perhaps my parents would join us and split the bill

Thanks so much for the suggestion.

Hi Sweetheart
Thanks for your message. It's a shame it isn't any good for you but as it is booked and too big, I understand your problem!
My parents do offer Mumsnet members a discount which is worth bearing in mind for the future
Good luck with your search!
A x
