Ideas for day out somewhere indoors for 12 year old

Has anyone got some good ideas where to go this weekend for a day out (pref indoors) we are based in the midlands but dont mind traveling a couple of hours if its a good day out.

Air & Space or Natural History museum in Manchester

I can back up the suggestion about the National Space Centre in Leicester. It is really good and I should imagine a 12 year old boy would love it if he is into spacey things at all.
