Anybody holidayed in The Cevennes?

Looking for a villa to rent for 8+ people, ideally on the edge of a town/large village. Have tried HomeAway, OwnersDirect and airbnb but not finding anything. Any ideas for where else to look, please? TIA.

We stayed on the edge of the Cevennes in 1992 and 1993. It is beautiful, not at all touristy and completely unspoiled. We rented a house from a friend of a friend so I can't advise who to rent from, but you will love the area. We were near St Ambroix BTW.

We stayed on a canvas holidays site in the Cevennes, the scenery from the site was beautiful.
